NATO soldier killed in Afghanistan blast

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A Canadian soldier in the NATO force was killed Friday when he stepped on an explosive device in southern Afghanistan, Canadian news sources reported.

One other soldier was slightly wounded in the blast, CNews reported. The identity of the soldier killed was not made public.

It's been a particularly deadly month for Canadian forces in Afghanistan, with 10 soldiers dying in September, the most casualties Canadian forces have suffered since the beginning of the war.
