DOURA, Iraq, Sept. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. troops and Iraqi forces found a weapons cache near a mosque after getting tips from local citizens, the U.S. Defense Department said Wednesday.
In a quiet predawn mission, the troops went through the Kathamayan Mosque in the dangerous Baghdad suburb of Doura.

Just outside the mosque they found 30 artillery rounds, four rocket-propelled grenades, two grenade launchers, an automatic machine gun and other weapons inside a shipping container, the department said.
The squadron had received several tips from local residents that illegal armed militia had been using the mosque to conduct insurgent operations in the area.
