LONDON, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Investigators believe two people found dead on a boat off the coast of Senegal are a British couple wanted for stealing a yacht in Cornwall.
Peter Clarke and Sharon Arthurs-Chegini fled the country after being arrested on the yacht stolen from Mylor Harbor, the Times of London reported.
Terence Arthurs, Arthurs-Chegini's father, told the newspaper that Clarke was responsible for his daughter's death. He said that when his daughter brought him to meet the family he stole from them.
"We've been told Senegalese fishermen found his body on a sailing boat off the coast," Arthurs said. "When they brought the vessel into harbor, they found Sharon's body inside. They think that it was pirates but I wouldn't be surprised if Peter Clarke stole that boat."
Arthurs-Chegini had three children by a previous relationship. Friends said she worked as an interior designer.
