Wen assured that his country is ready to make joint efforts with South Korea to work toward the peninsula's denuclearization but noted the situation in the region remains "complicated and sensitive" because it is still not free from the Cold War.

He said China and South Korea should continue to closely cooperate and that the six parties to talks on North Korea's nuclear program should abide by their common statement.

Roh was quoted as saying that all parties should try to build trust and resolve differences through dialogue.
