Al-Qaida suspect held in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. and coalition forces captured what they termed a known al-Qaida facilitator in the eastern Nangarhar Province, military officials said Monday.

Six other al-Qaida suspects were also detained following a raid on a suspected terror compound in the province, said officials in a statement released Monday.

Officials said no shots were fired during the raid.

Several women and children were also reportedly living in the compound, where a large number of documents were confiscated.
