NEW YORK, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- A New York man, fearing a "voodoo" hex, allegedly drowned his two small children, then threw himself under a subway train, police said.
The children's mother discovered their bodies when she returned home from work.
Frantz Bordes, a 39-year-old unemployed Haitian, was upset because he thought the family of his girlfriend, Francoise Mercier, had put a voodoo curse on him, investigators told the New York Daily News.
After he allegedly drowned his 4-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter in their Staten Island home, police say Bordes went to Brooklyn where he committed suicide. He left behind seven rambling suicide notes.
Mercier, 42, told the newspaper that she had learned Bordes, who had a wife and two children in Haiti, had a third family in Queens, also with two children.
