DALLAS, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- A 10-month-old Texas boy was found dead in his father's vehicle after he allegedly was forgotten in it for the entire day, police said.

Police responding to a 911 call found the boy dead in a Chevrolet Tahoe shortly before 6 p.m. Friday,, the Dallas Morning News said Saturday.

"The preliminary investigation reveals that the father of the baby was to drop the baby off at a day-care center in Dallas this morning," Carrollton police Sgt. Patrick Murphy said. "He forgot to drop the baby off ... and worked all day, leaving the baby in the car in the parking lot of the business."

The high temperature in Dallas Friday was 103 degrees.

Murphy said he wasn't sure when the baby was left in the car but estimated it was between 8 and 8:30 a.m. The father works at a mortgage lending business.

Investigators were questioning the father, whose name was not released, and no charges had been filed, the Morning News said. The baby's name also was not released.
