MONROE, N.C., Aug. 22 (UPI) -- A North Carolina man whose 9-month-old son allegedly ate some of his cocaine faces drug charges.
The father and two friends allegedly left the boy in a room by himself with the cocaine nearby, the Charlotte Observer reported. They rushed the child to a hospital once they realized he had eaten some of the drug.

Brandon Scott Lewis of Monroe was charged with possession of cocaine, while his friends were charged with possession and delivery.
The boy was hospitalized in critical condition.
