JUNEAU, Alaska, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard searched for the crew of a fishing boat found partially burned Monday in Alaska's Prince William Sound.

The Coast Guard in Juneau, Alaska, said the Bodysnatcher was discovered on its side on a mudflat at first light after another vessel in the area picked up a mayday call Sunday night.

The boat was partially burned and two empty survival suits were found in the area.

The Bodysnatcher is a 26-foot bowpicker, which is built for salmon fishing. It was not known how many people were aboard or what caused the apparent fire.

Weather conditions in the Sound around Hawkins Island were described Monday afternoon as misty with 2 miles visibility.
