MIAMI, Aug. 13 (UPI) -- A 13-year-old boy died this weekend from unknown causes in Miami during a camping excursion by Lauderhill's Back to Basics Military Academy.

The teen, whose name was not released, died at Parkway Regional Medical Center after reportedly waking up at 3 a.m. Saturday raving incoherently before passing out, the Miami Herald said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

The boot camp at the Oleta River State Recreation Area is a four-day event which teaches adolescents Christian values, while also educating them in leadership and discipline.

The camp's principal, Lynda Browne, has said that while temperatures in the area reached the low 90s Friday, all of the cadets on the trip were fully hydrated and cared for.

The death is the second this year at such a boot camp. The Herald said that in January, 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson died in a Panama City camp after being involved in a dispute with guards.
