SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- A San Francisco federal judge has ordered the sale of items seized from Theodore Kaczynski, aka the Unabomber, to pay $15 million in restitution.

Judge Garland Burrell Jr. ordered Kaczynski writings as well as items such as his tweezers, pocket knife, three typewriters and two face masks, be sold in an online auction, The New York Times reported Saturday.

Kaczynski pleaded guilty in 1998 to multiple mail bombings between 1978 and 1995 that killed three people and injured 28 others.

Friday's order ends a legal battle over the restitution between the government and Kaczynski, who has been serving his sentence at a maximum security prison in Florence, Colo.

Other items hitting the online block include blue sweatshirt and hood resembling the clothes worn by Kaczynski in the infamous sketch that appeared on "wanted" posters, checkbooks bearing his name, and a briefcase containing the former mathematics professor's degrees from the University of Michigan.
