Cabdrivers boycott airport store

ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Cabdrivers at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport have been boycotting an airport convenience store, saying employees treat them with disrespect.

The SuperAmerica store and gas station is next to the cabbies' waiting room. Drivers say store employees are rude, accuse them of stealing and tell them they can only spend five minutes in the store.

One of their biggest complaints is that the bathrooms in the waiting room are not kept clean.

"If they say someone is stealing, show it on the camera and call the police," Asad Shane, a driver for eight years, told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Angela Graves, a spokeswoman for Marathon Petroleum, the corporate parent of Speedway SuperAmerica, said the store has been trying to resolve problems with the cabdrivers. She called them "good customers" and said the company just wants to make sure that the drivers, by their numbers, do not keep other customers out.
