Two U.S. crew missing in Iraq copter crash

BAGHDAD, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Two U.S. Marines were missing in Iraq Wednesday after a UH-60 Blackhawk Army helicopter with six men aboard crashed during a reconnaissance mission.

The aircraft went down Tuesday in Anbar province while conducting an "area familiarization" flight, the military said in a statement Wednesday.

"Search and rescue efforts are ongoing for two missing crew members. The remaining four are in stable condition," U.S. Marine Corps spokesman Major Riccoh Player said.

Player said the crash did not appear to be a result of enemy action, and said all available resources were being used to locate the missing Marines, CNN reported.
