Director wants return trip for 'Superman'

SAN DIEGO, July 21 (UPI) -- The director of "Superman Returns" told fans in San Diego he hopes the Man of Steel makes another trip.

Bryan Singer was at Comic-Con International, The Hollywood Reporter said. He said he and Warner Bros. have talked about a sequel, possibly for a 2009 release.

"Superman Returns," starring Brandon Routh, has grossed $169 million so far in the United States. The movie cost $200 million to make, The Reporter said.
