BAJAKOVO, Croatia, June 22 (UPI) -- Croatian police say they have cracked a ring smuggling 32 people at the border with Serbia, and customs agents seized 12.2 pounds of heroin.

Police at the eastern Croatian towns of Vukovar and Vinkovci, on the Danube River, arrested 32 illegal immigrants, Zagreb's Vecernji List daily said Thursday.

The foreigners included 26 Albanians and six Serbs. Along with them, the police detained five Bosnian organizers of an alleged human trafficking ring transferring people from Albania, via Serbia to Croatia and on to western European countries.

The migrants were arrested earlier this week after crossing the Serbian border into Croatia and while waiting for transportation to Zagreb.

Police handed them over to investigating judges.

On Croatia's Bajakovo main motorway crossing point from Serbia, Croatian customs agents Wednesday arrested a Croatian citizen with 12.2 pounds of heroin hidden in his car.
