China court orders payment to workers

BEIJING, June 22 (UPI) -- A Chinese court in Beijing reportedly has ordered a Shandong construction firm to pay the wages of about 260 workers who haven't been paid for a year.

The China Daily reported that the migrant workers had been working at a metro line project in the capital. The salaries in default amounted to about $112,500.

The report said the 260 farmers-turned-workers were sent to Beijing by the Shandong company last June, but had never been paid.
