Bush: Justice delivered to Zarqawi

WASHINGTON, June 8 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush called the death of terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in Iraq "justice" and praised U.S. military forces for killing him.

"Zarqawi's death is a severe blow to al-Qaida," Bush said in remarks Thursday at the White House.

U.S. Army Gen. George Casey said a "precision munition" had been dropped Wednesday evening on "an identified, isolated safe house," during a meeting of insurgent leaders. Zarqawi was identified both through fingerprints and facial recognition.

"At 6:15 U.S. forces confirmed the location and delivered justice to the most-wanted terrorist," Bush said and then went through a litany of the terrorist acts orchestrated by the Jordanian-born leader of al-Qaida in Iraq.

"Now Zarqawi has met his end and this violent man will never murder again," Bush said.
