Brother accused in 'honor killing'

TEL AVIV, Israel, June 7 (UPI) -- A 26-year-old man in Israel is accused of allegedly killing his sister by stabbing her 29 times.

The Jerusalem Post said the alleged attack by Basel Abu-Dahal was caught on tape by security cameras at a parking lot of Bank Hapoalim in Ramle two weeks ago. Abu-Dahal was apprehended nearby with blood stains on his clothes.

Police allege the man has admitted to the killing, saying he did it because of "honor."

There were three "honor killings -- in which women were killed by their relatives because the family believes the women's actions besmirched the family honor -- in Ramle last year, the newspaper said.
