JAKARTA, June 1 (UPI) -- The Asian Development Bank has offered the Indonesian government grants and loans totaling $60 million for rebuilding following last week's earthquake.

ADB President Haruhiko Kuroda Tuesday toured the stricken city of Yogyakarta with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and then met Wednesday with Vice President Jusuf Kalla, where he made the aid offer, the Jakarta Post said. Kuroda said $10 million would be in emergency grants and the rest in loans.

The quake early Saturday on the island of Java killed almost 6,000 people and destroyed 49,000 homes.

Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati joined Kalla for the meeting.

"For the ADB funds to be realized, we will first have to identify the projects and work that is needed," she said. "Then we can seek disbursement."
