Taped rape, murder suspects surrender

LAMAR, Mo., May 26 (UPI) -- A Missouri couple the FBI called the country's most dangerous have turned themselves in on allegations they videotaped raping and killing another woman.

Richard D. Davis and Dena D. Riley surrendered to the Barton County, Mo., Sheriff's Department Thursday after eight days on the run, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported.

A national search was sparked when the beaten and naked body of 41-year-old Marsha Spicer was found May 15 in Lafayette County, Mo., the newspaper said.

The couple had been missing since May 17 after in interview with Independence, Mo., police.

The two are charged with counts of first-degree murder, assault, kidnapping, rape and two sodomy charges.

Police are being mute about details now the pair are in custody but said they have a videotape allegedly showing the rape and murder, the Star said.

An unidentified 5-year-old girl from Pittsburg, Kan., has been taken into custody, which FBI spokesman Jeff Lanza said is part of a kidnapping investigation into the couple, the newspaper reported.
