Clinton to eulogize Lloyd Bentsen

HOUSTON, May 25 (UPI) -- Former President Bill Clinton is slated to deliver the eulogy at the funeral of former Democratic Sen. Lloyd Bentsen next week in Houston.

Bentsen died Tuesday at the age of 85 after suffering several strokes, and will be buried next Tuesday.

Bentsen represented Texas in the U.S. Senate for 22 years and served as Clinton's treasury secretary for two years. He is credited with coaching Clinton to reduce the federal deficit, the Austin American-Statesman reported.

The noon service at the First Presbyterian Church of Houston will be open to the public.
