INDEPENDENCE, Mo., May 23 (UPI) -- Police are searching for a Missouri couple who allegedly videotaped the beating and strangling of a nude woman.
Marsha Spicer's body was discovered May 15 in a shallow grave, the Kansas City Star reported.
Investigators, in court documents, say that they found a videotape in the Independence, Mo., apartment shared by Richard Davis and Dena Riley. It shows a naked woman with duct tape covering her eyes and binding her hands, they said.
On the tape, which is time-stamped May 14 in the early morning, the woman pleads for her life, investigators said.
Police say that Riley and Davis denied knowing Spicer when they were interviewed two days after her body was found. A detective noticed a camcorder in the apartment set up to get pictures of a bed, and investigators say they got the tape on May 19 after obtaining a search warrant.
Davis and Riley have both been charged with murder.
