Latest Hoffa search under way on farm

DETROIT, May 19 (UPI) -- Dozens of law officers returned to a Detroit area farm Friday to continue their search for the body of former Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa.

Authorities called it the best chance yet to crack the 30-year Hoffa mystery, the Detroit Free Press said.

Dan Roberts, the FBI agent leading the operation, called the tip that sent searchers to Hidden Dreams Farm in western Oakland County's Milford Township promising. He estimated the hunt would take up to two weeks and involves removing a barn.

Hoffa vanished on July 30, 1975, after going to a restaurant for a meeting with a Detroit Mafia captain.

The farm was once owned by former Hoffa associate Rolland McMaster. The tip that Hoffa was buried there came from former Detroit Teamsters official Donovan Wells, who is serving a 10-year sentence on a marijuana smuggling charge.
