CHICAGO, May 16 (UPI) -- A bank robber who gives tellers 10 seconds to hand over the cash is a suspect in seven holdups in the Chicago area.

Police think the man, who wears disguises but claims he is unarmed during robberies, has escaped with more than $200,000 taken in bank jobs since February, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.

The FBI Monday began offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the capture of the criminal dubbed the "10-second bandit" because of his notes giving tellers 10 seconds to comply.

The bandit is described as a man between 30 and 40 years old, about 5-feet, 8 inches tall with a thin build and brown eyes.
