2 escapees deemed criminally insane

MASSILLON, Ohio, May 9 (UPI) -- Two men being held as criminally insane have escaped from an Ohio state mental hospital.

Damien Corley and Nathan Young created "dummy-like figures" in their beds to conceal their escape from the Heartland Behavioral Center in Masillon, the Canton Repository reported.

Both men have violent histories. Young, 28, was found unfit to stand trial on an aggravated assault charge, and Corley, 29, was declared not guilty by reason of insanity in March on a kidnapping and felony assault charge.

The pair were still missing Tuesday after escaping late Saturday or early Sunday.
