Homeless man injured in dump truck

AMARILLO, Texas, May 4 (UPI) -- A homeless man in Amarillo, Texas, got caught in a garbage compacting dump truck but was rescued after the truck's driver heard his screams.

The incident occurred Wednesday when the dump truck driver, who had begun compacting the trash, heard screams coming from the truck's rear compartment, reports the Amarillo Globe-News.

The 46-year-old victim was pulled from the compartment and taken by ambulance with a leg injury, police said. It was unclear how the man got inside of the truck.
