BAQUBA, Iraq, April 28 (UPI) -- At least 30 people were killed and 43 insurgents arrested fighting in Baquba, northeast of Baghdad.
The BBC reports a curfew was declared after insurgents attacked various police checkpoints and stations in the city and surrounding Diyala Province late Thursday.

The death toll includes at least two civilians, seven soldiers and 21 insurgents, U.S. and Iraqi force spokesmen said.
Iraqi police said between 400 and 500 insurgents were involved in the attack, sparking a battle that lasted for "hours."
