LONDON, April 12 (UPI) -- Prince Harry, third in line to the British throne, has completed training at Sandhurst military academy and been commissioned as a British Army officer.
His passing out parade Wednesday was attended by his grandparents and other British royalty and covered by the world's media, reports The Times of London.
The 21-year-old prince received worldwide attention last week for joining friends at a lap dancing club. But he is now a 2nd Lieutenant in the Household Cavalry's Blues and Royals, serving in an armored reconnaissance unit, the report said.
A senior Army officer told The Times it was "eminently possible" that Prince Harry could be serving in a conflict zone in another year.
Prince Harry was quoted recently as saying: "There is no way I am going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my arse back home while my boys are out fighting for their country."
