NEW YORK, April 6 (UPI) -- Scores of bone fragments from victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks have been found on the roof of a building to be demolished in Manhattan.

Debris from the twin towers of the World Trade Center fell on the Deutsche Bank building. The building was condemned but remained standing for more than four years because of environmental concerns.

Demolition workers found 74 bone fragments during the weekend, The New York Times reported. They are preparing the building for its destruction.

The discovery is the largest involving human remains since the official end of recovery operations at the site. The remains of 1,151 people who died at the World Trade Center have not been identified.

Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the New York Medical Examiner's Office, said that all human remains would be given DNA testing and would be stored indefinitely. She expects more fragments to be found as cleanup continues at the site.
