At least one dead in Siberian collapse

TYUMEN, Russia, March 17 (UPI) -- A ceiling collapsed Friday in an office building in Tyumen, an industrial city in Siberia, killing ate least one man and injuring at least eight others.

A gas blast apparently caused the collapse, trapping people under the debris, Itar-Tass reported.

A fire broke out immediately, said Natalia Lukash, press officer for the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Rescue workers were called and firefighters managed to extinguish the fire in the three-story building.

All the injured were hospitalized. Two children and one adult were reported in severe condition.
