Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
Serbian government Minister Rasim Ljajic said Thursday the country should extradite war-crimes suspect Gen. Ratko Mladic to a U.N. tribunal.
Ljajic, minister for Human and National Minorities Rights of the Serbia-Montenegro union said Mladic, a former Bosnian Serb military leader, must be transferred to The Hague international court for the former Yugoslavia by April 5.
"I won't be talking about Ratko Mladic until April 5," Ljajic told Belgrade's B92 radio and added he expected pressure by the United States and the European Union would intensify in the wake of the death of former Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic.
Milosevic died Saturday in The Hague where he was standing trial before the U.N. tribunal on genocide and war crime charges in the former Yugoslavia in the 1991-95 period.
Tribunal's chief prosecutor Carla Del Ponte has been pressuring the Belgrade authorities for years to extradite Mladic, accused of genocide and war crimes.
