Brazilian Army vacates Rio slums

RIO DE JANIERO, Brazil, March 14 (UPI) -- Brazilian armed forces vacated Rio's slums Tuesday after occupying the poverty-stricken areas for nine days while searching for stolen arms.

Some 1,500 troops left the area without recovering any of the weapons taken from an armory.
