Russian vessel rescued off Irish coast

BELFAST, Northern Ireland, March 12 (UPI) -- The Belfast Coast Guard assisted a Russian cargo vessel stuck in the Irish Sea after suffering engine problems.

Itar-Tass reports a Coast Guard ship towed in the Russian dry cargo vessel to a Northern Ireland port where its engine will be fixed.

All six crew on board and the metal load it was carrying are safe despite bad weather conditions.

When repairs are made to the ship it will head back on its voyage across the Irish Sea, the news agency said.
