Prodigy, 21, about to become doctor
TOKYO, March 8 (UPI) -- U.S. Army deserter Charles Jenkins says -- at least at one time -- North Korea had its missiles aimed at South Korea and Japan, reports said.
Jenkins, 66, spent some 40 years in North Korea following his desertion from the Army.
"Close to my house was a mountain and Russia put missiles in there. Everybody knew that," British newspaper The Independent and Japan's Kyodo News Agency reported.
"Nobody goes up there or talks about it, but they're all aimed at Japan and South Korea," Jenkins said.
Jenkins left North Korea in 2004 and served a brief sentence for desertion.
Jenkins and his Japanese wife later moved to Japan.
