BANGKOK, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was to meet opposition leaders Monday after thousands marched in Bangkok a day earlier, calling for his ouster.
Tens of thousands took part in Sunday's demonstration, and some protesters camped out overnight, vowing to continue the protest Monday, the BBC reported.
It was the third rally in less than a month calling for Thaksin to step down.
Leading the crowd was an ad-hoc coalition of activists, labor and student groups, which have accused the prime minister of corruption.
In view of the growing opposition, Thaksin dissolved Parliament on Friday and called a snap election for April 2, three years early. However, the three main opposition parties have threatened to boycott the election.
