NEW YORK, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- The New York City medical examiner will determine the cause of death of a 2-month-old baby who died in his crib, as his father slept nearby.
Police said the baby showed no signs of trauma, but a trickle of blood appeared from the baby's nose.

Rescuers were called to the city apartment Friday afternoon after the mother came home and found the baby was not breathing. The father was sleeping in the bedroom after working all night at a check-cashing store, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.
"I didn't expect anything to happen to him in his crib," said Hiram Berrios said of his son, Adam. "I feel like I failed him as a father."
