HUNTSVILLE, Texas, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Condemned Texas killer Robert Neville has been executed for the killing of a young woman eight years ago.
Trembling and remorseful, Neville, 31, apologized Wednesday to the family of Ann Robinson, who was 19 when he and an accomplice tortured and killed her, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.
"If I see Amy on the other side, I will tell her how much you love and miss her," Neville said to the slain girl's mother and sisters as he lay with arms outstretched on the gurney in Huntsville's death chamber.
To his own parents, Neville said, "Mom, Dad, I'm sorry for putting you all through this pain and stuff. I love you, and I will see you on the other side."
"This is the closest to closure that I've got," the victim's mother, Tina Robinson, told the Star-Telegram.
Neville's partner-in-crime, Michael Hall, 26, also was sentenced to die but no date has been set.
