TOM'S RIVER, N.J., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- A 55-year-old New York City nurse convicted of murdering and dismembering two men has been sentenced to consecutive life sentences.
"You are an evil human being," New Jersey Supreme Court Judge James Citta told Richard Rogers as he gave him the maximum penalty at the Friday sentencing, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.
The judge added that he hoped "that you die in some hole in some prison without ever having freedom again."
The former surgical nurse at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan, has not explained what drove him to kill 56-year-old Thomas Mulcahy and 44-year-old Anthony Marrero, and then dismember them and leave their remain along New Jersey highways.
