KABUL, Afghanistan, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai has ordered an investigation into a bombing this week that killed more than 20 people.
A spokesman for the president said that Karzai wanted to know where the bombers procured the parts necessary to build the explosive device and who was backing them, Afghan and Pakistani news sources reported Wednesday.

On Monday, a suicide bomber riding a motorcycle in Kandahar province rushed into a crowd of people who were celebrating Eid festival and set off the explosives he was wearing.
In recent months, Taliban militants have used suicide bombers with greater frequency, a strategy some attributed to the influence of al-Qaida in Afghanistan.
