JERUSALEM, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz on Thursday demanded a detailed plan on dismantling terror groups from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

Mofaz made the call during talks with U.S. envoy to the Middle East, David Welch, and said he wanted to see the detailed plan the day after the on the day following the Palestinian parliamentary elections on Jan. 25.

He also said if Hamas wins power in parliament and seeks to join the Palestinian government, there will be no room for any dialogue with Israel as long as Hamas remains a terror organization, Ha'aretz reported.

Envoys Welch and Elliot Abrahams traveled to the region Wednesday for talks ahead of the Palestinian elections, and to meet Israeli leaders in the wake of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's hospitalization after a massive stroke last week.
