Weapons, ammunition cache found

ROSTOV-ON-DON, Russia, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- A major cache of weapons and ammunition has been found in the Chechnya village of Prigorodnoye, officials say.

Itar-Tass said the cache contained "11 complete homemade explosive devices, eight Shilka anti-aircraft installation shells, two hand grenade launcher projectiles, a hand grenade, about 1,000 cartridges and 600 grams of hexogen."

The report said the find had been prepared by a leader of a gang operating in the area. He was being sought by authorities.
