DENVER, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- A Denver woman was rescued by searchers after she got lost while looking for a Christmas tree in the snow-covered Pike National Forest.

The 40-year-old woman was found cold but otherwise fine about 9 p.m. Sunday a mile or two from a search command post that had been set up by the Alpine Rescue Team, the Denver Post reported.

Bill Barwick, spokesman for the team, said the 40-year-old woman, whose name was not released, got separated about 3 p.m. from family and friends who were looking for a Christmas tree in the designated cutting area of the national forest.

"She just got powerful confused and didn't know what direction she was going," he told the newspaper.
