LIMA, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Peru's ruling party has decided to back a female candidate in next year's presidential elections, El Comercio reported online Monday.
Jeanette Enmanuel is a businesswoman with no prior political experience. If the leading Peru Possible Party ratifies her candidacy later this month, Enmanuel likely will face center-right contender and favorite Lourdes Flores of the National Unity coalition party.
