Venezuela: Fourth party pulls out of race

CARACAS, Venezuela, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- A fourth political opposition party has pulled out of Venezuela's upcoming congressional elections, Globovision reported Thursday.

Earlier this week three opposition parties announced they were pulling their candidates from the election, saying the electoral commission could not guarantee a free and fair election.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Wednesday accused the country's political opposition of trying to sabotage the upcoming congressional elections.

The upcoming election is set to increase the number of lawmakers in the Congress, a move the left-wing government of Chavez said would give it an even greater majority than the one it already enjoys.
