Iran gets more time for nuclear compromise

TEHRAN, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- The United States and three European countries plan to delay referring Iran to the U.N. Security Council to give the country more time to accept a nuclear compromise.

Under the proposal, Iran would continue with its nuclear program, but uranium enrichment would be transferred to Russia, the BBC reported. Iran would continue to engage in nuclear conversion.

On Sunday, the Iranian parliament approved a bill that would bar International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors from its nuclear facilities if the country is referred to the Security Council for possible sanctions.

Iran maintains that its nuclear program is aimed only at peaceful uses.
