Search continues for accused terrorist

JAKARTA, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- A manhunt continues in Indonesia for a man reputed to be one of the leaders in Jemaah Islamiah and an organizer of terrorist bombings.

Investigators say Noordin Mohammad Top managed to escape from a house in Semarang on the island of Java before it was raided. Azahari Husin, reputed to be Jemaah Islamiah's top bomb maker, was killed in a raid on his mountain retreat in eastern Java.

General Sutanto, Indonesia's chief of police, said a videotape found in the Semarang house showed the three suicide bombers who attacked restaurants in Bali in October, the BBC reported. On the tape, the three justified their actions and said they would be rewarded in heaven.

Azahari Husin is believed to have been on of the organizers of the 2002 Bali nightclub bombing, the explosions at the Australian embassy and the Marriott Hotel in Jakarta and the recent Bali bombing. Noordin Top was allegedly involved in the two Jakarta bombings.

"Our goal is now to apprehend Noordin Mohammad Top and uncover other terrorist networks," Sutanto said.
