Lawyer seeks access to Farrakhan compound

HAMMOND, Ind., Nov. 10 (UPI) -- A lawyer for an Indiana couple injured by Louis Farrakhan's son in a hit-and-run crash is seeking access to Farrakhan's compound.

Charles and Gladys Peterson's car was struck by a Hummer driven by Nasir Farrakhan on the Indiana Toll Road in 2003. Nasir Farrakhan pleaded guilty to a motor vehicle violation in 2004.

The Gary couple claim in their suit that Louis Farrakhan was negligent in allowing his son to drive the car because he knew or should have known that Nasir's license had been suspended, the Northwest Indiana Times reported.

Their lawyer, Michael Back, has asked a federal judge to allow him to visit and photograph the area where vehicles are kept in Farrakhan's compound in New Buffalo, Mich., and to view security videotapes.
