Survey finds sick staff resented

LONDON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A national British survey says nine out of 10 workers resent colleagues who are absent because it puts them under more pressure.

Two-thirds of the more than 2,000 respondents in the survey done for the BBC also think alcohol plays too big a role in business and can have a bad impact on staff, the Daily Mail reported.

Women were less tolerant than men of colleagues taking sick days, with 92 percent expressing annoyance because it meant they were busier, compared to 86 percent of men, the report said.

The poll also showed a bias against fat people. About 83 percent admitted if interview candidates were evenly matched but one was normal weight and the other was obese, they would choose the former.
