BARTOW, Fla., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Polk County, Fla., authorities Tuesday night arrested Christopher Smith in the Aug. 20 slayings of three people at a Milwaukee bar.

Police told the Lakeland (Fla.) Ledger that Smith, 37, was arrested as he worked under an assumed name of "Kurt" for an excavation company on a new subdivision near Lake Rochelle, Fla.

Police used a helicopter to watch the construction site before making the arrest, during which Smith reportedly admitted his identity.

Authorities found a car abandoned near Haines City, Fla., Monday that Smith was believed to have been driving.

Smith was being questioned about the August shooting deaths of three people at Wolfgang's Pub in Milwaukee.
