Saudi Guantamano inmates may be freed soon

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- A Saudi judicial source said the kingdom expects the United States to release several Saudi prisoners at Guantanamo, Cuba, during the holy month of Ramadan.

Daily Okaz quoted the source as saying negotiations Tuesday between Riyadh and Washington have achieved great progress and excellent results on closing the issue of Saudi prisoners at Guantanamo permanently.

He said an indefinite number of Saudi prisoners are expected to be released before the end of Ramadan, which coincides in the first days of November.
